Bio
Syene Bernal Luna, a Franco-Colombian visual artist, was born in France in 1990.
Her artistic approach is nourished by the subtle forces of Life, whether they are vegetal, animal, or elemental. The genesis of her work is closely tied to a constant search for the connection between the cosmos and the Earth. She explores timelessness, abstraction, and unity, and taps into the collective unconscious regarding the fragility and infinite balance of life.
She began with photographic art, composing and creating vegetal and mineral creatures that lie at the border between abstraction and mirage. She experimented with a subterranean, deep aesthetic, focusing mainly on transformation and metamorphosis.
She later shifted towards more grounded constructions, creating small mobiles that became wearable adornments. She designs jewelry as an extension of her field of investigation, carried through time and space by those who choose them.
Then, her quest for the Macro took shape: the jewelry evolved into large sculptures, grand mobile structures called the Faguas.
This entire universe, connected to the cosmos and Andean civilizations, lies at the heart of her creative and living project.
